Louis Mitleider founded Mitleider Real Estate in downtown St. Louis, beginning what would become a four-generation family real estate business. From the start, the company was built around three values that continue to guide us today: integrity, honesty, and fairness.
In 1946, Harold Klamen joined his father-in-law’s business, and in 1955, he established Klamen Real Estate in the University City Loop. As St. Louis grew, so did the company. In 1968, Klamen Real Estate moved to 7508 Delmar Boulevard, where it has proudly served clients and the community ever since.
Harold’s son, Kelly Klamen, joined the family business in 1981. Over the next 43 years, Kelly built lasting relationships throughout the St. Louis community while expanding the company’s experience in buying, selling, renovating, and investing in homes across the region.
In 2016, Kelly’s son Chad joined the company, followed by his brothers Ryan and Jake, bringing the fourth generation into the family business. Today, Klamen Real Estate Group serves clients through four divisions: Residential, AS IS Home Buyers, Commercial, and Property Management.
In 2025, Kelly officially retired and the fourth generation took the reins. While the business has evolved considerably since Louis Mitleider first opened his doors in downtown St. Louis, the principles behind it have not. More than a century later, Klamen Real Estate remains locally owned, family operated, and committed to serving St. Louis with the same integrity, honesty, and fairness on which it was founded.

Ryan Klamen leads the residential brokerage division of Klamen Real Estate Group. As a fourth-generation real estate professional, Ryan grew up around the business and brings a lifetime of real estate experience and perspective to every transaction.
His approach is simple: listen first, communicate clearly, give honest advice, and treat every client’s transaction as if it were his own. Whether helping a first-time buyer navigate the process, positioning a home for sale, or advising a client through a more complex transaction, Ryan believes great representation starts with understanding what matters most to the person he’s working with.
As both a real estate agent and investor, Ryan brings a practical perspective that goes beyond simply buying and selling homes. His experience with renovations, property values, and investment real estate helps clients understand not only what a property looks like today, but its potential, its challenges, and where their money is best spent.
Ryan also believes clients should never be left wondering what’s happening with their transaction. Consistent communication is a priority from start to finish—keeping clients informed, explaining what comes next, and making sure they have the information they need to make confident decisions along the way.
Buying or selling a home is a major financial decision, but it doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. Ryan’s goal is to make the process clear, straightforward, and enjoyable while advocating for his clients every step of the way.
From Tower Grove to University City to Chesterfield to Affton to Ladue and to every community in between, the Klamen family has represented buyers and sellers across the entire St. Louis metro for a 100 years.
